Influence of the Boriding Process on the Properties and the Structure of the Steel S265 and the Steel X6CrNiTi18-10

In the performed experiment, changes in microstructure of steels S265 and X6CrNiTi18-10 due to their chemical-thermal treatment by boriding were studied. The process was a Durborid powder at 900 0C. During this process, surface layers Fe-B borides formed both analyzed sorts steels. differed morphology composition different degree alloying matrix additive elements. showed high adhesive cohesive resistance materials. Due micro-structure steel, especially significant coarsening original grain its matrix, tribological abrasion after decreased. opposite effect ob-served for As result boriding, materials changed corro-sion resistance.
